It makes me unreasonably happy to see you on gchat

I like knowing where you are and what you’re doing.  But not in a creepy “Every Breath You Take” kind of way!  How do I explain it?

There’s a possibility of connecting when we’re both active.  With the simple touch of a button, we could be interacting.  It’s easier than texting, with more give and take than e-mail, but less intimate than a phone call.  IMing allows for a certain boldness.

Plus, every time you update your gchat message, it seems like you’re communicating with me.  It’s much better than FB, where nearly 200 people see your status updates.  It’s sooo tempting to talk to you.  But I’m sticking to my guns (for the moment).
